O'Reilly Radar has an interesting
article about how during blind tests, people tend to prefer the sound of mp3 over uncompressed audio. This seems to be completely analogous to the cultural preference that developed toward the audio effects of vinyl.
Ha, so ripping burned cds of burned cds that were ripped and burned and ripped is really only increasing the listenablility, huh!

To be honest, I can't tell much difference between CDs and MP3s.
ReplyDeleteI do like the warmth of vinyl but I feel like it's too late for me to get in on this. The only vinyl I own are two 7 inches!
P.S. Nick - that CD of Dear Nora tracks was recorded FROM vinyl...you could probably tell.
